Pro v4 HA Plan Specifications
A reference for Pro v4 HA plan specifications
Architecture overview
Pro v4 HA is built on a Decoupled Plane Architecture, extended across two AWS Availability Zones. Administrative work and security processing stay separated from the storefront, and every persistence tier is replicated so a single-zone failure does not take the site down.
Decoupled Plane Architecture
A three-plane model that separates administrative overhead and security processing from the core storefront. The Control Plane handles management tasks while the Data Plane dedicates 100% of its resources to serving customers.
Multi-AZ high availability
The application and every persistence service run across two AWS Availability Zones. Database, search and cache tiers are replicated across both zones, so the storefront stays up if a single zone fails.
Managed data tiers
The database runs on Amazon RDS (Aurora MySQL) with a dedicated writer and reader. Search runs on Amazon OpenSearch and cache runs on Amazon ElastiCache. Each tier scales independently of the storefront.
Podman container orchestration
Every service runs as an isolated, rootless process via Podman. A container can restart on its own without affecting the others, which gives self-healing stability.

- App Cluster and data tier resource allocations can be purchased as listed in the sizing table or modified as needed to meet requirements.
- "Shared" in Proxy Service indicates all Pro v4 HA tiers operate on a shared Webscale data plane.
- The database runs on Amazon RDS (Aurora MySQL) as a writer and reader pair replicated across two Availability Zones.
- Search runs on Amazon OpenSearch and cache runs on Amazon ElastiCache (Redis/Valkey), both replicated across both Availability Zones.
- The Small tier runs a single application instance. Medium and above autoscale across both Availability Zones.
- EBS storage is listed as 40 GB boot / 100 GB data volumes.
- Webscale Varnish is available as an option and is excluded by default.
- Check your commercial terms for any overage, regional or billing specifics not captured here.
